Our Beneficiaries

Snorkeling Materials for the Youth of Cantaan, Guinsiliban, Camiguin
Aims to help conserve, protect and preserve giant clams, to provide income for twenty (20) out-of-school youth and to help them acquire knowledge and skills in tour guiding and coastal resource monitoring. Tanging Yaman provides the basic needs to pursue this project. Snorkeling materials include masks and snorkels, fins, goggles and life vests.

Basic Ecclesial Start-up Project for Families in Albay
Through the generous donations collectively raised under the Agap-Bikol program, house rehabilitation, scholarships, environment protection and livelihood projects have been implemented.

One of the projects assisted by Tanging Yaman together with the ACI Sisters is a ‘Basic Ecclesial Start-up Project' for twelve families in different barangays in Albay. It aims to provide capital for the chosen business venture of the selected families.https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-1WCmjRhMUi4/VLNRTi0rBTI/AAAAAAAAF4I/jNS_bDV4VII/w506-h564-no/IMG_20130219_165411.jpg

Upon monitoring of the livelihood project last August, beneficiaries said that the start-up capital helped them in their small scale businesses. Sr. Inday Dela Cerna of ACI indicated in the mid-term report that almost all of the BEC members had been able to pay in full their start-up loan after two months. From the payments collected, another round of micro-credit loans from BEC members will follow.

Fruit Tree Planting for Albay Residents
Also under the Agap-Bicol Program of Tanging Yaman, and through the efforts of Advocates for Social and Ecological Concerns, a tree-planting project was implemented aiming to provide another source of income for families in barangays Baligang, Libod, Kaguiba, Tagaytay, Gutob and Bantunan.

After typhoons struck Bicol, some areas were deforested and the planting of grafted fruit trees was seen to complement other reforestation projects and provide additional source of income to Albay residents.

Financial Aid for PWG Meeting
With the funding assistance from Tanging Yaman, the meeting of PWG (Philippine Working Group) on ‘ What is the value of Philippine forests and forest lands in climate change ?' was held on April 8, 2008 at ESSC Conference Room.
