Here's an excerpt of Fr Manoling's acceptance speech: "This Drs. Jess and Trining Dela Paz Recognition, in a way, validates the work that we have been doing for the past twenty-eight years. In the past twenty-eight years, we have been a conduit between donors and people in need here in the Philippines. We have been trying to connect food producers and food consumers. We have been trying to connect the church with civic groups and government agencies. And so since the start of the pandemic, March 2020, we have distributed more than half a billion pesos, worth of relief goods, livelihood projects, construction materials, and scholarship programs all over the country. And this is the charism, the mission that the Lord has entrusted us, to be conduits of God’s compassion to others. And so hopefully as we move forward, not only will the Tanging Yaman Foundation and the Ateneo de Davao University be conduits of God’s grace, we pray that all of us, Filipinos, be channels of God’s love, God’s goodness, and God’s compassion to all our brothers and sisters in need. Magandang Hapon po sa kanilang lahat. Daghang Salamat po.
