COVID-19 6-MONTH REPORT

Since the beginning of the Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. together with the Ateneo de Manila University and Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan of the Society of Jesus, has been in the forefront in responding to various needs of our health care workers, urban poor parishes and various sectors.

As of September 30, 2020, under the General Community Quarantine, we have been able to send the following:

155,353 food packs to 392 urban poor communities and to 75 Jeepney Drivers’ Associations;
17 tons kamote, 46.5 tons monggo, 152.6 tons kalabasa, 62.4 tons cabbage, 21.7 tons tomato, 65 tons tuyo, and 856 tons rice to indigent families within and without Metro Manila.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to 208 Hospitals and Health Centers from as far north as Sagada/Cagayan Valley to as far south as Sultan Kudarat;
112,215 hot meals for front liners and health care workers in 7 hospitals and institutions;
85.8 Tons of vegetables from Central and Northern Luzon distributed to Urban Poor Parishes and Villages in Metro Manila
11,552 commodities by local producers from Baguio, Benguet, Batangas, Bulacan, Tanay, Novaliches, Payatas, Mindoro, Tarlac, Ilocos, Pangasinan, and Iloilo distributed to Metro Manila consumers.

Josh Nuval Ambrosio, BS Economics Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of UP Diliman Class 2020 celebrates graduation by donating from family and friends to provide 350 UP jeepney drivers with food packs and fresh vegetables.

Our hearfelt gratitude to all who supported Josh's Fundraising Drive for UP Jeepney Drivers: Tulong Kay Kuya.

We distributed 350 Food Packs to UP Jeepney drivers who were displaced due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each food pack contains: 5 kgs rice, 1 kg Kamote, 1 kg Sayote, 1/2 kg Tuyo, 1/2 kg Monggo, 1/2 kg Sibuyas, 1/2 kg Kalamansi and 1 bunch of Saging na Saba.

CALL FOR CASH DONATIONS to support Frontliners vs. COVD-19

Ateneo de Manila University, Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, Manila Observatory and Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. is calling for cash donations to fund the purchase of PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)* of our health workers.

*PPE is equipment worn to minimize exposure to a variety of hazards, which include such items as masks, gloves, foot and eye protection, protective hearing devices (earplugs, muffs), hard hats, respirators, and full body suits.

We are in this together. Let us all help our unsung heroes – our health workers. And let’s continue to pray for another’s safety, health, and wellness.

Taal Volcano Eruption Relief Operations Update #04

Here's an update on our Call for Donations for the victims of the Taal Volcano Eruption.

On January 16, 2020 the Ateneo de Manila University - Ateneo Disaster Response and Management Team, Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan and Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc., started the Relief Operations at the Richie Fernando Covered Courts, inside the Ateneo Campus in Quezon City.

As of February 20, 2020, we already sent Family Packs and Relief Common Supplies to various evacuation centers in eight tranches through the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission amounting to P 9,261,210.00. Our Family Packs were distributed to thousands of families, each family received a pail of relief supplies including bottles of water, sachets of instant coffee, packs of biscuits, toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soaps, laundry detergents) and sanitary supplies (sanitary napkins, fresh underwears, towels) and n95 face masks. The following Common Supplies were distributed to Evacuation Center Organizers, sacks of rice (50 kgs each), boxes of canned goods, instant noodles, diapers and medicines, thousands of bottled water, and sets of cooking implements and even empty sacks of rice and shovels to clean ashes from their respective houses.

We would like to thank all our volunteers, partners and donors. Maraming salamat po sainyong pag-aalay ng panahon, sarili at pagmamahal para sa ating mga kababayang nasalanta sa Batangas.

Taal Volcano Eruption Relief Operations Update #03

We would like to thank all our donors and partners to all their donations for the Taal Volcano Eruption Relief Operations. Relief Supplies were already turned over to the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Center and to various Evacuation Centers in Municipality of San Luis, Batangas, last January 22 and 26, 2020. We will be posting a comprehensive report in the coming days.
