We extend our heartfelt thanks to our parish partners—Sta. Maria Della Strada, Our Lady of Pentecost, and Holy Cross—all under the Diocese of Cubao. Special thanks as well to the volunteer doctors who held a medical mission at Pentecost Parish, adding even more value to our feeding and rice distribution efforts.

Your continued support is helping us bring nourishment, care, and hope to our communities.

TYF's Lugawan at Bigasan sa Parokya Week 1 Report

LugawanBigasan_Report_Week1_for_web.png

This week, TYFI launched a new project: LUGAWAN AT BIGASAN SA PAROKYA! Three parishes in the Diocese of Cubao, strategically located near Ateneo, are our mission partners: Sta. Maria Della Strada Parish, Holy Cross Parish, and Our Lady of Pentecost Parish.

One of the most touching moments of the day came as 600 children lined up, bowls in hand, to receive hot, nutritious lugaw (rice porridge). In addition to the feeding program, Bigasan sa Parokya offered subsidized 1st class, premium rice to 600 families, enabling them to purchase this staple at a significantly reduced price: 3 kg for P100. This initiative not only provided immediate relief to indigent families grappling with food insecurity but also supported local rice farmers by sourcing the rice directly from them.

In a time of rising prices and economic uncertainty, such initiatives are vital in creating sustainable support systems at the grassroots level. Thank you, dear donors, volunteers, and mission partners.

After the devastating Super Typhoon Odette (Rai), Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. funded P60M in rehabilitation projects in various provinces. Last February 06-09, the TYFI team, led by Chairman Fr. Manoling V. Francisco, SJ, conducted program evaluation and assessment alongside visitation to various rehabilitation projects in Bohol. TYFI allocated P20.8M in rehabilitation projects in Bohol province.

Diocese of Tagbilaran. The team visited the Immaculate Conception Parish, the Baclayon Museum, and the Immaculate High School (IHS) of Baclayon. TYFI supported the sacristy rehabilitation project in Baclayon Church, while the school and the museum received assistance for the reroofing project. School Principal Liza Pangan welcomed and joined TYFI in visiting the church and the museum. She expressed that IHS is beyond grateful for TYFI's generosity and support.

Diocese of Talibon. TYFI visited the housing rehabilitation projects in the Diocese of Talibon. Nanay Judy and Tatay Genaro expressed their gratitude while showing their new house. They now enjoy a more comfortable, albeit simple, life. While showing her new house to the team, a teary-eyed Nanay Brenda Fernandez expressed her thanks to Fr. Manoling. Mr. Antonio Balonga, one of the Social Action Coordinators for the housing project, presented a liquidation report printed on Manila paper. The Genaros prepared a simple merienda while Nanay Brenda offered freshly harvested bananas from her garden. Their warm welcome, hospitality, and gratitude make God's love more palpable.

TYFI is deeply grateful for the warm welcome of Most Reverend Patrick Daniel Y. Parcon, DD, Bishop of Talibon, and for the assistance and coordination of TYFI's mission partners: Fr. Joel Ruyeras, Ms. Liza Pangan, Ms. Apple Fernandez, Fr. Pepe Gupita, and Fr. Paulito Amplayo.
