Panginoon
Turuan mo akong maging bukas palad
Turuan mo akong maglingkod sa iyo

Whenever we call for donations, we are continually awed by the generous outpouring of responses. With your help, TYF’s Lenten almsgiving campaign this year was able to provide food to thousands of transport workers, the elderly, and persons with disability. We are deeply grateful.

Hindi humahanap
Ng kapalit na kaginhawaan
Na di naghihintay kundi ang aking mabatid
Na ang loob mo'y syang sinusundan

Maximo Inalem is a solo parent who bears full responsibility for his three children. After living in a cramped house made of recycled materials, Maximo Inalem counts himself blessed to have been selected one of the recipients of Super Typhoon Odette shelter rehab project. In April 2023, the family moved to a more comfortable and airy house in Brgy San Pascual, Ubay, Bohol constructed by the St Vincent Ferrer Parish Team HALAD.

The shelter rehab project is funded by TYF and implemented by the Diocese of Talibon Social Action Center, which coordinated the construction of 37 new houses in various parishes of the diocese.

Daghang salamat to Team HALAD and Fr Epifanio Gupita, the DSAC director and parish priest of St Vincent Ferrer Parish.

Construction of the first 3-in-1 chapel funded by TYF is almost finished!

A 3-in-1 chapel serves as a home for religious gatherings, an evacuation center, and a multi-purpose hall for the community. The San Isidro Labrador Chapel in Port Barton, San Vicente, Northern Palawan had to be abandoned after it was damaged during Super Typhoon Odette, and the 3-in-1 chapel that replaced it is in a new site. Its location in the interior posed a challenge to the delivery of construction materials, compounded by incessant rains brought by La NiΕ„a.

After several months, the new chapel is in the final weeks of construction. Fr Ed PariΕ„o, SAC director of the Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay, announced the chapel will be blessed on May 17, in time for the fiesta.

Construction is ongoing of two other 3-in-1 chapels in Palawan funded by TYF: Sta Rita de Cascia Chapel in Roxas and Nuestra SeΕ„ora de Salvacion Mission in Dumaran.

A New House For A PWD And His Family

Allan Golosino, a 53-year old PWD, was set to move into a new house along with his parents and two children. The house was constructed by the St Vincent Ferrer Parish Team HALAD or Handumanan sa Ligdong mga Alagad sa Dios from TYF’s Super Typhoon Odette rehab funds, in partnership with the Diocese of Talibon Social Action Center (DSAC) in Bohol.

A day before the house was completed, Allan’s mother, 78 year old Nanay Catalina suddenly died from a heart attack. The family couldn’t afford to buy a coffin, so the construction team built one for her.

During the house blessing, Allan and his father look stunned. In all likelihood, their hearts were both full and empty at the same time.

Our thanks to the parish HALAD Providers team who brought grocery items, kitchen utensils, curtains and tablecloth, a Bible, and a crucifix. Daghang salamat to DSAC Director Fr Epifanio Gupita who blessed Nanay Catalina and the new house.

TYF welcomes the opening of the latest alternative rice hub or bigasan in the Ina ng Laging Saklolo Parish in Bagong Silang, Caloocan. The bigasan is jointly managed by the Parish Pastoral Council, Parish Finance Council, and Family and Life Couple Power Lakas Mag-asawa. For the launch on Sunday, March 26, meron ding libreng lugaw!

Since 2001, TYF and The Hunger Project of the Philippine Business for Social Progress have been collaborating to provide interest-free loans to establish a parish-based bigasan in the various dioceses in Metro Manila. The project has two-fold objectives:
To support farmers associations or co-operatives by buying directly from them
To provide good quality rice at a more affordable price for urban poor communities

TYF and PBSP are supporting five other bigasan in Caloocan, Cubao, Manila, Fairview, and in U.P. Diliman.
