Typhoon Odette Rehab Update.
Project: Assistance for the Construction in the Sto. Niño Parish Church, Bohol
The domed roof of Sto. Nińo Parish in Cortes, Bohol, was severely damaged during Typhoon Odette in December 2021.
Every time it rained, water gushed inside the church and not just drenching the pews and floor but posing a threat to the century-old beautifully painted church ceiling.
Reconstruction of the roof has now been completed, to the relief of parish priest, Rev. Fr. Irvin Garsuta. Tanging Yaman Foundation contributed P724,405.00 for the rehabilitation, which involved new trusses and roofing. Funds raised by the Parish from Christmas caroling just before the typhoon struck supplemented the budget for the new roofing.
